Moisturize, use a milk or lotion-based moisturiser as it contains lactic acid, essential for hydrating the skin. Moisturise twice a day, especially after a shower. Gently scrub feet with a pumice stone before applying the moisturizer . For acne prone skin, use
a non-comedogenic lotion. Limit baths and showers to maximum 10 minutes to prevent skin from drying up. Try and use warm water as opposed to very hot water. For smooth and nourished skin, use products containing shea butter, petroleum, tea tree oil or glycerin
Hair: massage the scalp and hair with olive or coconut oil before washing it. Avoid the use of blow dryers and hair styling products that have a high alcoholic content as it strips away moisture from the hair.
Despite of change in weather, it is vital to use a sunscreen that protects from both UVA and UVB. SPF 30 is recommended.
Cleansing: remove make-up with a mild cleanser before sleeping
Watch what you eat: Consume food loaded with protein, vitamin C and vitamin E. Nuts, pomegranates, salmon, dried cranberries and avocado restore the skin’s natural balance
Little extra: Protect nails by applying olive oil or lotion containing lanolin, before sleeping
Stay hydrated by drinking lots of water. “It is important to use products that are suitable for your skin type and condition; so, be sure to check labels in order to choose the most appropriate product for you. says Dr. Rehab.
