Underwater Zoo Adventure

Tuesday afternoon, another hot day in Dubai with a sandstorm on it's way... 

What should we do? Let's go for a special treat, an adventure at the Underwater Zoo, at the Dubai Mall. Luella and her best buddy had a fantastic time! Here's what we saw and experienced.

First the aquarium display and the 43 meters long walk-through tunnel experience with a very impressive display of 33,000 aquatic animals like sharks and rays. It's the world’s largest acrylic viewing panel. 

Located on Level 2 above the main Aquarium tank, the Underwater Zoo presents different ecological zones including Rain forest with Piranha, Caiman Crocodiles and Water Rats. Also the Rocky Shore, where a Humboldt Penguin colony cohabit and some amazing Giant Spider Crabs. Finally the Living Ocean part display some Sea Jellies and Moray Eels.

This is just a few of the fabulous aquatic animal you can see.

On the mezzanine, a special display of over 30 species of snakes, insects, geckos, lizards and more is the new highlight of the Underwater Zoo. "Creepy Crawlies" exhibit offers  an opportunity for close encounters. 

Something we will do on our next visit... 

We did not get the chance to see the behind the scene and learn about the feeding habits. I think, it will be more appropriate for older children. Luella is only 3, and was already amazed at every display. It's good to know that the Underwater Zoo offers difference activities like the Aquarist Programme and Glass Bottom Boat Rides for interactive experience for visitors. 

This is a field trip you can do and do again.
